Unhappy Clutch Noise

So yeah does anyone else seem to have a annoying ratttling noice comming from their tranny when you clutch is out and you sitting still like at a light, almost sounds like a really bad engine knock. I just brought my car in for a new clutch but im not sure if this will fix it, car runs fine just an annoying little sound i dont like.

I get the same thing ever so often. It's a problem with the stock clutch. If you put your toe under the peddle and pull up it goes away. It's almost like the clutch doesn't stay up all the way. The people at ford said it wont create any problem. But you know how that goes.

Does it go away with the clutch in? If so, it's probably the clutch TSB. I had mine done. Search for it, or it may be a sticky in one of these SVT forums.

take it back...it shouldn't be doing that at all...they should have changed the flywheel becuase that's the cause of the problem, but they'd have to change all that stuff if they put a new flywheel in because the new and improved one is 1/2" bigger.

Check your cars to see if the bottom plate of your catyliter connverter fell off. Our cars are prone to loosing these plates wich leave a top plate laying trapped loosly ontop of the cat which causes a lour rattle at low rpms. I wold suggest checking this....and to make sure thats it just hold the top plate still while the cars running with a pair of pliers and see if its stops.

I'm having the same exact problem. Makes your ego drop whenever you go outside and start up the car, sounds like it has 200k on it. I'm taking mine in this coming monday for that same problem.

ya heard

I am currently living with that same noise day in and day out. I only notice it when the car is cool, like when it is first started for the day. As with yours, mine goes away when pressing the clutch in or after driving it around for a while. Other than that my car drives just the way I want it to. So even though it has a wierd noise, I am happy with it when spanking my friends 2001 BMW 328i coupe ( which he has had in the shop quite frequently!).
