Wayne...your mailbox is full...have some questions about my tune

hey wayne,

first off...i'd like to thank you for the tune...the car is how it should have been from the factory...anyways...i've run into a couple of issues with it though....at idle the car seems to be hunting for the right fuel maps or something....it sounds like a race car with extremely aggressive cams...just wondered if you had any updates on the tunes or what not...also i had a p0133 code come on about 5-700 milles ago...haven't seen it since...just wondered if an exhaust leak would cause that or if it is most likely a fried o2 sensor from the orp...thanks for any help

ryan

Most times a code can be thrown due to a certain condition at that time the PCM doesnt like, but then you wont see it again. I will check on that code and if I need to send you an update I will.
On the hunting for idle, it sounds like you may have a vacuum leak. I dont have any other customers with that problem at idle.

I actually have the same thing happen just about every time i start the car for the first time in the day. It lasts for about 3 minutes and then is gone. It sounds almost like a sinusoidal wave of sound where the rpms are constantly audibly cycling a little higher, then back down. So basically it sounds like the car is gasping or something. But like I said this just happens for the first few minutes of startup and then its gone.

The best and safest way to check for a vaccum leak is with an unlit propane torch. Just crank the car up and let it idle, and then turn the canister on and move it slowly around your manifold, intake tube connections and vacuum connections. If the idle increases, then you have a leak in that area. The startup idle issue, I am working on. But, it does only happen for around 20-30 secs.

^^^Yep^^^
Same here. IMHO, the idle drops a bit too quickly to 900rpm when it's cold.
If I kick it back up to 1,100-1,200 for 10-20 seconds or so, the "hunting" goes away.
Another description for it, would be just as djphobic noted,
in that it sounds like it's got some rather aggressive race cams installed.

It doesn't do that once it's warmed up.
