TSB Clutch work mandatory at 30,000?

I heard from someone a little while back that the clutch TSB out on the SVTF would be done regardless of clutch condition at 30,000 miles, as long as the car was still under warranty. Is there any truth to this, because I'm nearing 34,000 and if so I want to get this done. I need to go in soon for the rear hatch recall and a few other random things bothering me.

It's not mandatory...hence it's a TSB

Only reason they'll do the TSB is if you have the symptoms.

Daeron's right, no symptoms, no fixie. It can suck for some people, but if you don't have the problem why fix it?

No, it isn't mandatory, but if you really want to have brand new components installed for free, then give it a try. I didn't know much about my SVT until I joined this terrific site, now I can't help but just soak up all of the information I can about my ride!

I was quite skeptical at first about bringing in my car and telling them I would like a brand new clutch, flywheel, master/slave cylinders, pressure plates...etc., but I went in with the printout of that TSB, and I was treated like royalty! They immediately ordered the new parts and installed them the next day, all new!

The car drives so great now, everything seems tighter. The only scare I had was when I lost 5&6 gears, but that was a very simple problem that was easily corrected in a half hour. The shift cable came a little loose, my dealer took everything apart, tightened everything back up, tested it again, and now no problems!

Give it a try! All they can tell you is no...and chances are they won't. Just check the criteria for the TSB and see if your car lines up with the diagnosis. Don't be skeptical, Go, do it now...well, not now cause they're probably closed...but GO in the morn! And bring them all cookies and soda!
