my first 2002 focus svt

Just traded my 1995 bmw for a 2002 Ford focus svt with a snapped timing belt
Turns out the timing belt didn't snap but broke off about a foots worth of teeth
Did I get lucky or is this just as bad as the belt snapping?
And if the valves did bend where can I get some.....?
Iv looked everywhere
Need help

timing belt is not that bad aslong at it wasent ran with out it this caused the valves to bend i think.. the timing belt is easy to find n replace valves on the other hand... that will take some man hours and tuning

Yea, if it ran for any length of time without that many teeth you may need to rebuild your head. Some people get lucky and don't bend valves with a snapped belt though so you never know.

The SVT is an interference engine, meaning that the timing belt is CRITICAL. If it has broken, dont even start your engine. get it towed to a shop and have a mechanic check it over and install a new belt.

"fraid that trade would only be a good deal if the BMW was also not running.

Head rebuild & reinstall with new timing belt/tensioner/pulley will be the minimum repair to get it running again.
