first upgrades?

well, my warrenty is almost up, so I'm going to start thinking about buying some new stuff... I already know I'm going with an intake and magnaflow exhaust, but what will be good for a first upgrade after that for some low end torque? I feel like I'm lagging a little below the 3.5k mark... any ideas?

how big of a difference does it make? is it a noticable one? and what is affected in a tune?

and if you havent noticed, I am new to the focus... I came from a grand am, and we really didnt have tuning options... in fact we were limited to about 4 brands of intakes... this is a whole new world for me!

i havent gotten a tune yet but i heard it is the best gains for the money. if you do a search you can read alot about tunes. you may also consider a UDP that will free up some power

I have the Predator tune from Tom, it was the best OVERALL upgrade I have done. At least till the turbo.

The car drives completely different than before, all the "old habits" that the SVT's are known for are gone. It rev's faster AND stronger all the way to redline, no more bog when pulling out, no more bog when using the A/C, you just wont believe the difference. Its hard to believe it was just a tune

I believe it may be better to wait until the end of your modifications for a tune, that way the tune can take full advantage of everything you have done, and it will all be working together. As for further mods, if you are doing the magnalfow exhaust, and intake why not finish the exhaust, to eliminate any bottle necks, with a larger flexpipe and either a race header, or shorty header/hi-flow cat combination.

as far as exhaust goes the only thing that will really improve power is to get an ORP or a high flow cat. any cat back system will do little more than add tone

The ONLY reason to wait on a tune is if your going to go Forced induction, the ECU will adapt as other bolt on are installed. The "Tune" is just a set of optimized guidelines for the ECU to follow, it will still learn as mods are installed.
