Speedo Recalibrate?

I am going to put on some Pirelli P4 215/40ZR17's next week with some Enkei RS-V's 17x7." What is needed (is their anything out their?) to recalibrate the speedo so it is not off? Can I just get the SCT flash and have the tuner adjust the speedo for this or what? Thanks for the info!

Since the outside diameter is what changes the speedo/odo, lets look at outside diameters:
Stock tire size is
215/45/17
which has an outside diameter of: 24.618110236220474

you are going to a

215/40/17

which has an outside diameter of: 23.77165354330709

That will cause your speedometer to be off around 2.2 mph.

The stock speedos can be off as much as 2-3 mph either direction, so I think you are safe

yeah but I would rather be at the stock speedo set-up if applicable, rather be safe than sorry. I need to get a reflash anyways cause I have some stuff added on, plus nitrous.

yeah, most cars actually do run 2-3 mph high instead of low

Not neccessarily. Depends on which way your calibration is off.
Best way to check it is to set the ODO to Test mode before you run the car next time, and see what the digital readout says vs the analog needle. That way you will know if you are off at all, or to which side you are off. Then thats when you would be able to determine if the tires are going to cause you any issues.
