I'm interested in doing it for kicks. You know, opening the header up and finding some import with a fart can on it and let him hear it, lol. Just for kicks though. If I do, I'll let yall know how it sounds. haha :)

I wouldn't think it would run all that well, especially at idle because of ZERO backpressure. I would imagine it would sound mean as hell at WOT in the upper RPM's but you would prolly go deaf doing it LOL .... and if your out driving it like that and come across a cop, can you say TICKET LOL

seriously thats goin to be insane...funny idea but i wouldnt suggest you do it. Like jay said, if your within a mile of a cop your quickly going to realize just how bad of an idea it was.

I've also done it while my car was apart and it was the worst noise I've ever heard in my life...we don't have small blocks, so open headers are a big time no no.

Seriously, it sounded like a flock of chainsaws on nitrous. Disgusting. Some four cylinder cars sound good with an open header; ours is not one of them.

Hahahaha, that's funny stuff. I may try it still, there are no cops around my house, I live on the backroads by a city of less than 2,000 where the cops sit at the local BP and drink coffee all the time. They rarely pull people over at all. I got a heads up warning when I had blue strobes(cheap ones from autozone). I was sitting in a parking lot with some friends and turned 'em on and a cop rode by and saw 'em and came back and said to turn 'em off because the highway patrol might write me up. There are numerous trucks with nothing but 3" pipe and hugoungous tips for exhaust and none of them get any trouble. When I get the free time I'll do it and record some sound clips and maybe video clips. I'd like to do that and ride through the "rich people" neighborhood at about 2 AM, lol.
