get rid of the tranny. you don't really need it. while you're in there, lose that engine too. that'll save you a few hundred pounds!

The Rear seats can be removed( about 80lbs), there are a couple of plastic covers in the engine bay that don't do anything (save you about 7oz. there) and the header heat shield (1lb), the front fenders can technically be removed, but you might suffer aerodynamically.

Pretty much you have to REPLACE things with lighter performance parts to cut weight, the SVTF doesn't have very much stuff that is just there for the fun of it. If you're really hardcore stripping most of your interior, carpet, lining and seats out can save you about 200lbs, but that changes what the car is used for.

If this is for dragging the obvious has already been stated, seats, back and front passenger. Then take out your spare tire and jack. Carbon fiber hood will save you quite a few pouunds as well.

Also as a note, I read we dont have sound deadening material (except on the rear hatch floor around the spare). I ditched my rear seats a while ago. I put em in just because and the car felt really sluggish...out they came again and she felt right!

The lite wieght mods just depend on how extreme you want to go...you could remove the entire dash bracing (100#'s??), but youd have to figure out how to support/ mount the dash back in place....you could remove the left to right bracing from the roof under the headliner, remove the rear sub and tire, carpets, glovebox and drivers under dash, etc. etc. etc.

I like my car to be "travel worthy and pretty" so the stuff thats seen will stay in place...the back seats are the most I've removed. For Drag, I'll pull the audiophile sub and spare...thats close to 50# at least....shed 150# and go 0.10-0.15 faster in the quarter. Figure every 100lbs is worth shaving 0.10 seconds off your quarter if you are consistent.

^^ Yeah man that'll save you a couple pounds. But seriously, cf hood, trunk (or hatch I didnt see what you are driving) is going to save you some weight. And plexi glass windows would be killer!

Oh I just noticed you said "free" well whatever.
