Thumbs down oil change

took the svt in for my oil change. the dealer where i bought it offers lifetime oil changes for $201.00, and you can roll it into your payment. anyway they bring my car around hand me the paperwork. they put 5w20 in her. so back it go's for the right oil, so while i am waiting i have the service tech pull up my service records, seems these highly qualified techs have been putting 5w20 in since the first oil change. any body have any ideal what this could do to my engine. i now have 21000 mi's on her.

Since you live in the Artic Circle, the oil weight is OK.

The viscosity grade (for example, 5W-30) tells you the oil's thickness, or viscosity. A thin oil has a lower number and flows more easily, while thick oils have a higher number and are more resistant to flow.

In the summer, you may want to use a thicker oil, though.
