What do you want to do?
Sip gas and tootle around town?
That's what my ex's Scion Xb is for.

My SVT is for screaming... both the engine and my Id.
Mileage be damned. (can I use that word?)

I take first gear up really high (5grand) and then shift into 3rd then 6th, this is if i'm GOING SOMEWHERE. If i'm driving because its an svt? Then i usually take 1st and second high and then leave it in 3rd. I find that no matter how I drive, i still get about the same gas mileage, and with gas prices these days, I just forget about gas and gas prices becuase the more you think about it the less you enjoy the car.

^^^ yea thats true, i hardly even feel like driving half the time cause i think, well, it is 60 miles, about 25-30 mpg, at 2.25 a gallon, thats 4.50 just to drive down. Ive been trying to keep my foot out of it more these days, just driving around tho, ill shift at about 2500-3500 rpm.

Normal Driving I shift at 3,000 religiously. Otherwise it ranges from gunning it all the way to 7,000 or some easy shifting in the 5,000-6,000 range. I also skip a gears often when going fast to cruise speed.

hah! I used to do that shifting high 3k and above now I'm a total whip and shift around 2-2.5k because of the gas prices and the bad conditions on the roads I drive. I actually get significantly better gas mileage too 27-30 mpg avg between highway and town

About 6000 when having fun, 7200 when really having fun, and about 3k during daily driving.
