SVTF in sport compact car mag

anyone else seen the new issue of sport compact car magazine?? In the readers photo section there is one of the nicest SVTF's i have ever seen. Vortech sc, and about every bolt on goody you can buy for our cars. Also had motegi wheels and projector lights and a few other things Is it anyone's on here? if so, damn, that is nice. Just nice to see SVTF's in a mag like that getting praise.

I stopped reading that magazine years ago, back when I stopped reading they were very Honda-centric, every damn issue was full of turbocharged Civics and bodykitted Integras... the only page I looked forward to was the back page that had a profile of an interesting but forgotten car from the past, and I decided it wasn't worth it to buy a whole magazine for one page.

Is it different now? Or are cars like ours still limited to a picture in the reader's rides section?

they do have hondas and such yea, but they also have other cars, they had a project SVTF that they turbo charged in hopes to beat a SVT cobra, still goin w/ that project i think. They have alot of other cars in there to, like a twin turbo Jetta wagon.

It's completely different. They rip on honda's quite a bit now in there, I think the problem mightve been that the only cars they could really find were honda's but the scene is much more diverse now. IMO them and turbo are the best Sport Comact magazine's out there.

I've subscribed to SCC since '97 because at that time, they were the only mag in the states that was covering the European touring cars. They did go through a painful Honda phase, but they definitely don't like vinyl on cars anymore. My biggest gripe about the mag in general, is that they feature too many super-cars that are out of the budget of most enthusiasts and are often owned by companies and used as showcase vehicles. NSXes are nice, but I think they have featured every one ever built! And 1000whp Supras that are owned by Supra-tuning companies . . . . what about cars that _I_ could afford? Overall, though, SCC is one of my favorites. My very favorite is Eurotuner, and they even cover the Focus sometime.

About the SVT that BMXer was talking about, I've already ranted about THAT topic. It's nice, but very run-of-the-mill. Here's a link to that rant:

So it's run of the mill to have forced induction cars now?? So what makes all the turbo Civics and Teggy's that those magazines feature so special? And that sounded like a nice SVT to me, what the hell do you have to do to the car to impress people? Put a rocket in the hatch?

LOL ^^^ No, it's not that the forced induction is run of the mill, it's just that the rest of the car is. Most of the mods the guy has can be seen on probably 70% of the cars on this site. whenever we have a G2G in the Mid-Atlantic region, there is usually at least one boosted car and several nice SVTs with all of these sorts of mods.

Like I said in the other thread, I'm definitely not trying to rag on this dude's car; it's really nice. All I was trying to point out was that the magazine said (something to the effect of) that they never get any submissions from Focus owners as nice as that one. There are a LOT cars as nice or nicer (mine NOT being one of those) running around. I was just trying to encourage other owners of nicely modded Foci to submit their stuff.

The car is nice dont get me wrong. It has a nice list of mods the most impressive (also one I dont have yet) is the vortech.

What didnt trip my trigger was the ricey mirrors, didnt get a kick out of the front lights or wheels and the stickers on the exterior were not my bag. Honestly I think my car (being the same color) looks much better but that is just my opinion and the great thing is I have a right to that.
