Engine Whinning at 3600 Rpm

Hey,
Dont Know. driving usually, suddenly i hear a whinning noise at 3600 rpm, while conering. Then i noticed any time the rpm getts that high in any gear it makes the noise(it sounds like a tire out of ballace sound. But, its not) its a lot louder. I hope its the transmission main shaft and not the engine. Any Ideas?

That's kind of a new one.
The only thing I can think of off-hand, is it might be the half-shaft support bearing.
There is a service bulletin...>>>Clicky.
I don't know though, cause I doubt that would show up at the same rpm in all gears.

Are you still under warranty?

its still under warranty i plan on taking it to the local mazda speed first thing in the morning since the are the last ones to do any under hood repairs from my accident. but unless the Ford dealer thinks that a aftermarket ignition coil will void my warranty i technically have it till 08' or 50,000 miles.

well, as that an ignition coil is incapable of generating a whining noise, they can't deny your warranty for it

Mine had a whirring sound similar to what you describe. Just happened after the clutch TSB was performed. Ended up being a bad transmission also. Does it only do it when cornering?
