horrible sound................

HELP!!!!!!!!! There is a horrible rattle coming from my car, it rattles under accelerartion in nuetral and in gear, what can it be? Could it be my DSI coming apart again or is it transmission related, there is no noted loss of power, there is no heat sheild on the cat, what could it be?

my heat shelf cover broke loose and was clappen under the car so i took it off, bring it in to ur local SVT dealer

the exhaust manifold heat shield? cos the cat I have has no heat shield. could it be that basket weave flex pipe?

I had the similar problem. Ask them to check the heat shield first.

Yah stupid heat shield..the bottom of mine fell off and the top one is the only one left...it rattles on deceleration in first gear...i just need to get a heavy duty metal tie and take care of that. Get your car on ramps and check stuff out by taking a rubber mallet and tap around see what rattles. Remember..lightly tap.

I had a bad rattle right around 2000 rpm, no matter in nuetral or any gear. Replaced cat and no more problems.

I had a loose heat shield on my cat so I brought it to the dealer and they fixed it with hose clamps….. Surprise… Surprise… it didn’t last so I fixed it myself. But now I have developed a new rattle this winter…. Coming more from the rear so I think it might be around the gas tank but I will find/ fix it in the spring.
