Difference between 2005 and 2005 W filters?

I picked up a couple of FL-2005's at Walmart yesterday but the SVT manual says we need 2005w's but when I go to the Motorcraft website, there is no mention of the W ...

Believe it or not, that's a Motorcraft FL-2005 that they make just for Wal-Mart. The "W" suffix is for "Wal-Mart." There is no difference that I know of, and it's a great price.

Thanks man .... I am pretty sure you are right ... I couldn't find anything online that indicated there was a difference.

Moving to the "SVT Owners Lounge".....

W...really? Wal-Mart?
Where'd you see that?
Just curious.

It was on a part of a thread that went bye-bye when your backups went haywire the other day.

And yes, I know that that's the filter (complete with W) that Ford shows as recommended in the 2004 SVTF supplement.

Yeah, I know I've seen FL-2005W in the supplement.
But, W....meaning....Wally World? That's just too funny.

Five years from now, maybe Wal-Mart filters will have an F on them for Ford - if Ford doesn't get its act together.

Actually, what I found was backwards. The only one Wal-mart had was FL-2005, NOT the FL-2005W. They also had the FL-400 listed in my manual for my 2003 SVT, but according to what I found on another thread this part was updated in 2004 to FL-2005W. I ended up getting the FL-2005 because that is what Wal-mart's little lookup computer listed for SVT Foci. So anyway, I assume they will both work, but I'm not sure what is different about the W. Anybody know?

I wouldn't be surprised to find that the "W" stood for Wal-Mart, the company is freaking huge. They make all kinds of demands and stipulations about the products they will sell at their stores, if you don't meet their demands, your product doesn't sell at Wal-Mart.
