my first oil change

At about 3Kmiles, I decided to bring my SVTF back to a dealer(an SVT dealer,of course) for a an oil/filter change. I checked the SVTF supplement, which lists the filter and specs. 5w-30 oil. I told the service advisor to make sure the correct oil got in the car. He said he would. Of course, when I got the car back, the mechanic had put in 5w-20 (used on all other focui). I know that ,because it was listed on the work he did. I was mad. I made them drain the oil, replace the filter , and note on the work order what happened.I may sound fussy, but these guys should know better. I decided next time I am going to do it my-self. So on the way out ,I stopped at the parts counter to get the filter and oil. Would you belive the moron at the part counter actually argued with me, insisting ALL focus get 5w-20 oil. May God help me , if or when , I need these dopes to actually do some real work on my car.

next time call 1-800-FORD-SVT and let the SVT guys bitch at them.

5w20 is not that much difference from 5w30. I get free oil and filter change at my dealer so I just bring my own oil and have them change it.

I would avoid the dealer too on oil changes. It's a good idea to invest some time/money and do oil change and other routine maintenance tasks yourself.

Haha, they just love making this mistake. My second oil change was free because they put in 5w-20 on the first oil change, and they did it again...I made them change it. I just did my 3rd myself and it runs great.
