Green or red?

Before i had my accident i had orange or red antifreeze and when it came back from the shop it had green antifreeze in it. Which is the OE requirement? Red, Dex-cool or Green?

I thought Ford switched to the GOLD stuff in '03.
I know that's what my '04 has.
Check your SVT Owner's Manual Supplement.
Mine says:
Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant (yellow-colored). Capacity: 6.1qts

ford doesn't use dexcool, so you should never see red. most older cars use the green, but most newer cars have the gold, which is ford's version of dexcool

Gold. Go back and make sure they put in the right stuff. Probably won't make a difference -- until your pump freezes up, your engine melts and they blame you for using the wrong coolant (extreme example, but you know the stealerships . .. )

Both my 2002's came with Gold from the factory also, but my silver car was in an accident and they switched to green for some reason, that was over 20K miles ago so nothing I can do about it now ( besides I didn't own the car then ).

Biggest difference is the gold stuff has a 50K mi life expectancy. Also, it's mentioned in the driver's manual.
