My SVT has an idle problem..

I just got back from class today and I was sitting in my driveway with the car still running, and when it began to idle it got really rough, like the car wasn't getting enough air and choking.I'm not a mechanic but I will try to describe this the best i can.The exhaust was surging, and not remaining consistent. This worries me, especially since I just installed my newly ceramic coated stock headers and the fc offroad pipe.Could an exhaust leak cause this?I've had this problem before and I took it to be serviced and they gave me some bullshit talk that I couldn't understand...something about the intake manifold.Anyone else have this problem, or know what it could be?

Yeah mine used to have the same problem, but they replaced the intake manifold free of cost to me and it went away.

I have been having that problem when cold. I think it is due to having too much of a gap on my plugs (after installing the SD and live wires). It says to gap .065 but I am going to back that off to .060.

I hope you get it worked out.

Do you have any mods on the car?

yea...i have a fs intake, ceramic headers,fc offroad pipe,vf mount, and thats it as far as the engine goes.misvtfocus, thats what they replaced on my car as well.its hard to believe it has broke again already, granted i have been driving my car pretty hard lately since i installed the offroad pipe.last night i let the car idle in the parking lot at my work and it had no problem, so ill probably just wait for it to mess up again and take it in.

it might also be a back pressure problem because of your ORP.

An exhaust leak could cause that problem too. I would check that out before getting a new intake manifold.

Does it stall out sometimes? I was at low idle like yours. If it does. I had the same problem with mine. I just took mine to the dealer and they fixed it. Something with the air flow in the sensor. They did something to my computer and fixed it.

I have it with cold start. But after the car warms up, it goes away. I'm looking into getting it fixed as well... no money to pay Ford though... so if you have the opportunity, let me know what's the deal and how much.

If your car is still under warrenty take it to the dealer. My guess is that's your best bet for that problem.
