Optional Getrag gearsets and/or final drives

Hey all. I'm looking at possibly swapping out the entire gearset in the getrag to get an overdrive in 6th gear. I am sick of my SVT revving so damn high in 6th on the freeway. almost 3200rpm at 70. I dont know wtf ford was thinking using a 1.08:1 gear for 6th. If not an entire gearset, does anyone sell alternate final drive gears (kinda like ring and pinion in a rear drive set up). I plan on going to a quaife or torsen diff at some point but just trying to see whats out there. Thanks.

What are you looking for? you have no power below 3k RPM so any head wind you down shift, any up hill, you down shift, any overtake you have to down shift. Its a 4 pot 3k RPM is not bad when it revs to 7k RPM.

In-laws Chevy Aveo it revs at the same as the SVT. My Jeep with a 4.0L and a straight six that red lines as 5k rpm sits at 2.1k RPM at 70.

You will not like the drive experience with going with a low enough final drive or 6th gear that will result in a fuel savings that will repay for the work to get it.

Nobody does. IIRC, getrag sells a gear set, but its $3,000+, or something astronomical like that.

The SVT 6-speed has a twin shaft design to fit the FWD configuration. So that 1.08:1 you cite is paired with a tall diff ratio. see below.

2nd/2.67:1 /1/2.88:1/7.7:1

Reverse 2.82:1/2/4.25:1/12.0:1

This car has "EPA" mileage at 27 mpg from factory highway. I frequently see 28-30 highway mpg, so I'm not complaining (e-10 crap). City driving is terrible in this car; if i just go to and from work and to grocery store or dog park (all within 5 miles of my place) I see sub 20 mpgs. Its made to cruise, not for stop and go and short distances. *EDIT* this is with my "IMRC stuck open" CEL which I'm lazy to fix.
