I'm curious, what grind did you go with? 2291017? If so I hope you bought the springs to go with them. I have this set and just spent three days in the garage assembling and disassembling the head to find out the stock valve springs were binding up and not allowing the cam to roll over any further. I swapped out the stock springs for the pac springs I bought with the cams and it rolled over like it should have.

Increases in duration up to and including small amounts of overlap won't hurt. On a DOHC engine, you can mess with the overlap to help things as well. I could run tiny cams with very little duration and the boost would skyrocket simply because the air coming out of the blower would stack up on the back of the valve longer. Then the ideal gas law takes over.

P - pressure
V - volume
n - number of moles (amount of air)
R - constant to make different units of measure work
T - temperature

PV=nRT

It is a balancing act. So if pressure goes up on the left side of the equation, and volume is fixed (not a variable intake manifold) then in order for the equation to balance, something on the other side must go up as well. Constants are constant, so either the amount of air or temperature must increase. On a fixed displacement blower the volume of air doesn't go up, so temps must increase. No matter what type of engine you are running, you don't want to raise inlet temps.

This is why you want to decrease boost pressure to the point of not wasting energy or reducing blower flow on a JRSC or any other positive displacement system.

More reasons to run the same flow at less boost:

Those are charts from Eaton via Magnusson.

So it would take a lot of time but if I got the timing right with the cams an SC it could have good results.

But sounds expensive time on a dino!
Would 300hp be unreasonable?
