It's SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper through me. I have 1 VCT solenoid including the pig tail available and ready to go. PM me if interested. It is used, and has 139k miles on it, but ran until the day that my ecu decided to wipe itself clean.

Is there a good way to clean these? Mine got stuck with 117k on it. It threw a P1381 code, but when I pulled it out and cleaned it with carb cleaner the car ran fine. I'll probably end up ordering one, but for the time being I'm wondering what the best way to clean it is. I ohmed the solenoid and it came out at 10-11 ohms. I think that's a good reading. I've heard brake cleaner is good on these things. Any ideas?

I'm having this problem as well. I had my car on blocks for 6 months while I was replacing the clutch and everything else.
Sometimes the solenoids get gunked up and "stuck", which what i think has happened to mine from sitting unused for 6 months. The gaskets are cheap enough that if this doesn't work after cleaning it with brake cleaner, you can order a new one from Steve or grab the used one from GBPackFan.
The VCT solenoid and gasket part #s are 2M5Z6L713 AA and 2M5Z6584 AB (per that thread above!)

You don't need to change the valve cover gasket to swap out the solenoid?
