New Clutch Review

Well, instead of continuing that depressing thread about not gettiin my car back. I finally got my car back today. Well im pissed because they didnt fix the DSI cable so its still broke but i do have a new clutch. Anyways, they replaced EVERYTHING, the flywheel, pressure plate, clutch and TOB. The clutch REALLy feels different, it takes nothing to push in the cluitch pedal. The friction point also is really low. You barely lift back up on the clutch and it catches. I have to break it in but this weekend i am going to the track for town vs. town. Ill let everyone know how it handles under the stress of launching. ALSO anyone know how to fix the DSI cable without me taking it back to that condemned ford dealer? Lemme know.

If you figure out how to get a smooth fast shift w/ the new clutch, let us know. I love the new clutch for normal street driving, but I can't get the damn thing to engage smoothly under hard acceleration to save my a$$! I either engage too fast and the car jerks and barks the tires or I feather it too much.

I dont have pics of how I fixed mine, but I took a low height pan head screw (head was about the size of 'button up shirt, cuff buttons'. I saw where the 'post' was to where the DSI clipped in, screwed the screw in place (not all the way down), and hooked the DSI cable to it. I did this shortly after receiving a new manifold (1.5 yr ago) and that broke. My Mod is still perfect after 1.5 yrs.

I just read my post...and wow...do I make sense??

Um...might not want to take it to the track just yet. Most new clutches require around 1000miles of easy driving as a break in if you are too hard on it too fast it can fail and is very likely to do so.

My friend had this problem with an ACT clutch and then later with a Centerforce one on a different car. I know your clutch is an OEM part but take it easy for the first 500-1000 miles or you may be right back in the shop.

Ok, well IF you find a pic lemme know. Also if i have like 300 miles on it? You think it is enough. They didnt even tell me i had a break in period. I really wanted to go this weekend. They never even said it had a break in period so i just assumed it was 500.
