SVT 65mm T/B

I just recieved my FC 65mm tb and i was looking at it and pictures of them and noticed that mine had a notch in the inside of it. The notch is connected to the three holes on the bottom of the tb. In all of the pictures i found, none of the others had this notch, they were all smooth. Is this a new thing or did i just get screwed???

i saw it in mine too..........i think it's what you're talking about.................... i thought about it, and thought that there had to be a way for air to get in during idle...............

That is for the idle circuit. At idle, you still need a small amount of air for the engine to run. (the throttle blade is fully closed when your foot is not on the "gas") The air passes through and down a separate circuit within the intake manifold to the idle air solenoid which regulates the amount of air going into the engine to maintain the idle.

I hope this helps, this is a commonly asked question about the t/b.
