k&n Air filter insert?

I just ordered a K&N air filter insert for my 04 svt. I heard this was an easy mod but I was wondering what exactly all of the benefits of upgrading to this? Also, will there be any noticeable difference in sound?

I got one and installed it about two months ago. There wasn't really any difference in the sound but I do have better power between 2,000 and 2,500 rpm now. I haven't noticed any major improvement in mpg but the filter I replaced wasn't all that bad to start with. That said, there have been a lot of other variables that have influenced the performance of my car so I can't really say how much improvement the filter can bring with all else constant.

It's an air filter. It's not going to make a huge difference. Maybe some more low to mid-range, but don't expect the world...

That said, I have the K&N panel in my car.

Hey, it comes with a nice sticker and the peace of mind that you not running a piece of crap paper filter. It's definitively something worth getting for how little it costs and the fact that you never have to buy another one again.

Try and buy it online, or look for a sale, if you have time. I picked mine up when Advance was running a 25% off promotion. Pretty sure the filter retails for like $60 something, and I *think* I had to have them order it in.

Or go to some local or simi-local car shows. I picked mine up at FF 11 for 10 bucks someone was selling.

I have a k n n panel filter in my St 170 for like 3 years now , did a dyno before and after ,showed no increase on the dyno , tho it did rev a wee bit easier , then I ran a 76mm ram tube from the lower grill into the airbox and that really got the filter doing the job
