ABS code i need help with...

Ive used two different scanners. I personally own a blue point micro scanner with the ABS option.

Anyways, both scanners are pulling a U3FFF code that says Manufacturer Specific. Called and asked a couple Ford dealers, and of course they want me to bring in the car so they can diagnose it...

Alldata is not showing anything for this code either. Car is an 02 SVT Focus. The entire brake system is stock. No fancy calipers or lines ect....

Please I NEED help!

There is no U3FFF code that I can find. Undefined system codes are typically related to module communication and in this case the communication network likely experiencing the malfunction is ISO9141 Ford Standard Corporate Protocol or SCP for short. This is a proprietary communication protocol and likely only Ford scan tools will recognize the codes generated for it's diagnosis. This is different than getting datastream from SCP.

What module is the code from?

U3fff

No I just got the car and am going thru the issues that the original owner neglected to take care off.
I was using an Actron code scanner and it clearly stated ABS U3FFF as a code

I'm not suggesting you recorded the code incorrectly. I'm saying that I've been up and down both the master DTC list and the ABS module DTC chart for a focus of any model year up to 2003 and "U3FFF" is NOT a valid code. There aren't even any "U" codes that begin with the number 3.

I think your tester is able to decode the system designation (U for undefined) but is using the character "F" to identify an unknown.

Is the code a continuous memory code or on demand?

All U codes in this case are for a proprietary communcation protocol so it makes sense you will need proprietary scan tool software to recognize it.

Sorry I just moved and set up the computer again!

I'm thinking its cheap autozone/pepboys ABS wheel sensors. I'm not 100% certain on that. The code is continuous. If you yank the battery cable off (to clear codes) it remains on. I replaced the wheel bearings and made sure that they were facing the right direction. And after i replaced those, the ABS light stayed on.

My story:
I replaced the wheel bearings on the front. Doing so, i broke one of the sensors when removing them. Ordered two new ones (easy enough to replace while i was there) from the famous Autozone. I did drive without sensors for a day while i was waiting for parts to come in. Put the senors in and light would NOT go out. (I was not told of any special way to put them in, DID LOOK ON THE FORUM EITHER!) And I put them in wrong...
So I ordered two new wheel bearings and I also ordered two new sensors. Put the senors in CORRECTLY and put in the new sensors and....
Same Crap! ABS light is still on...

Let me remind you that there was no light on prior to the first install of the wheel bearings.

I do plan on ordering Motorcraft sensors soon, but that is the least of my worries.
