SVT Warranty Question

Ok, I just got '03 SVT after trading in my '03 ZX3.

The question I have is on the Warranty. It does have 36/36000 Bumper to Bumper. I understand the the tires fall under 12/12000. But any of these will be under 36/36000?

1) Cluster Gauge Pod ( flicking big time in neutral - and my needles want to get messed up)

2) Clutch rattling when it is dis-engage. (many discussion on this but nothing on warranty limitation)

If anyone of you have TSB on those problems that would be AWESOME!!. I like to be ready for the dealer visit - and you know what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance.

Go to SVTOA.com and do a search for TSB in the Focus SVT section. They have a full thread dedicated to that.

Found it. Awesome! Thanks a bunch.

How about the cluster gauge? Anyone input on that?

saw your other thread's respond RockyNbullwinkle. The additional problem I have is that when I turn the car off - I can hear a fan slowing down from the gauge. It is like winding noise. Its hard to explain but more like something stopped spinning noise.

And sometime when I pull the key out the Engine Heat and Fuel Neddles would jump up to the middle and stay there until I start my car again.

I've only heard of the flicker I don't know about the aggitated needles. The flicker is attributed to a poor charging system. It's not bad it's just smaller then what it needs to be. I've only experienced this flicker at idle. Mostly evident whenever the idle surges or I have the bass turned up. The stock amp tends to draw more than usual for such a small amp.

Oh yeah 031911 is supposed to help with this. If your symptoms are similiar to mine it should help very minimally. I've learned to live with it and embrace the wonders of Ford.

You might want to open up your gauges and make sure that the needles are properly seated. There isn't any fan behind the gauges. There are four motors that drive your needles. Those motors are pretty silent, I'm not sure you're hearing it from the gauges. The only other thing I can think of is that the person that had it before had aftermarket gauge faces on there.

Check this out: do the hack for test mode, do a gauge sweep and see if they all sweep the full range. Gauge Sweep is the first option after you start test mode, usually it automatically does the sweep when you take your finger off after you see test appear.

The gauge test went ok. The aggitated needles still continues The only thing I can think of would be get the new set of gauge and install it in. The '02 SVT gague would fit in '03 - do you think? Do you think the mileage would remind the same after new cluster gague? Thanks for all your help. I really like the car but this small things really really bug me.
