SVT feeling down on power?

i have a 2003 SVT and lately at night when i leave work it feels down on power. its warmed up for a few minutes before i get in, but when i take off it seems to be laggy. the sound is right and it drives fine, but just down on power. at first i was thinking it was just in my head, but i did a wot from first through third and it seemed to be fine after that. anyone else have this happen??? ideas on what it could be? it is when my car is low on gas btw, but not nearly empty.

Could be your Fuel Pump not working up to par.

Or clogged Fuel Injectors ... maybe even clogged Fuel Filter.

Just a few thoughts.

I have a bottle of that Lucas oil injector cleaner that I'm gonna run through on next full up, and as far as a tune up... Never since I've owned it. I've only had it like 6 months. So where should I take it and what should I ask for?

How many miles are on the car? You can check the IMRC by looking at it with the car off, then turn the car on it should close or open. Here are some maintence things that I can think of off the top of my head.

T-belt (very important on the SVT to be done)
Fuel filter
spark plugs
spark plug wires
air filter
PCV valve

I can't think of anything else right now. I'm sure others will chime in with some more.

what sleepy said...only other thing i could poss. think of is clean your throttle body sometime you will get sluggish response from it if pretty dirty with carbon build up. (i.e. the black stuff behind the valve) pretty cheap and easy way to test. theres no engine codes correct?

Hard to diagnose if there isn't a "real" problem to speak of other than you think it feels down on power. Any codes? Any misfires or hesitations? Any stumbles or hiccups?

Only when low on fuel. Wonder if your fuel pump is overheating and bout to take a dump. The maintenance recommended above is a good start, besides having the problem. I'd maybe fill up the tank at half way empty and see if the problem goes away.
