Traded my ZX3 for SVT

I traded my '03 ZX3 for '03 SVT today. I got myself a Pitch Black SVT, US SVT wheels, HID light, Subwoofer, and etc...etc....

So for I like it. One thing I notice is that after I start my car - put the shift on Neutral and release the clutch - I can hear the rattling noise from the engine. When I press the Clutch all the down it goes away. Why is that?

That car is only 26000 miles (compare to 28000 on my ZX3). Do you think I can get the clutch fix under the warranty? Thanks Focus brothers and sisters.

That ratteling sound is the SVTs notorious clutch/flywheel defect. From what I have heard many people have had problems getting the dealer to fix it. There is a TSB which documents the problem, but it is not a recall so you may have to fight with the dealer. You may have better luck going to and SVT authorized dealer as they are kept abreast of SVT issues. Good luck.

As my previous post states above, take it to an authorized SVT delaer, they will be your best bet in getting it fixed under warranty.

Did you get it fixed afterward under Warranty? I've been reading alot today regarding this issue and the best solution would be calling SVT to docuement the problem before going in the dealer. What do you think?

I had the the same EXACT problem with mine. i took it to an svt mechanic, and they changed the flywheel, slave cylinder and clutch..good as new now. Get that taken care of ASAP!! My dealership told me that ford doens't know exactly what's causing it, so they just replace the whole clutch assembly and flywheel.
