slippery pedals wth?!?!?

I almost hit a car today cause of the slippery svt peddals. Only lane to turn left, was the 3rd in line, just got done pumping gas and raining a bit. Started pushing down on the clutch to stop and my shoe slipped, car jolted forward and slipped again pushing the brake pedal. Car finally stopped like 6'' from the explorer in front of me, i could notice the driver looking and wtf'ing me

ordering some skateboarding grip tape later today Ive done this to most of my cars, dont know what took me so long to do it to the focus. These are by far the worst ive had

Do you have toothpicks for feet?

Never in my life have my feet slipped off the pedals of a car.

Are these aftermarket pedals or what??

dry your feet.
use the whole pedal and not just the tips or sides of your feet.

i have done the same thing, not near any other cars but still similar. It happened to me because i get oil and grease on my boots at work. Now when its wet out i wipe my feet on the floor mat before driving off.

I have the same problem occasionally. I love my car excpet for that stupid clutch pedal cover. Aluminum with several rubber bumbers! Geez, what a great idea...

Let me know how the grip tape works out....

That was my first thought too lol

Yeah I have to be careful when driving with wet shoes. They seem to slip right off of you put any side load on them while wet. I have make sure I'm pushing down onto the pedal. Plenty of rubber and grip on my pedals just the shoe material and the rubber don't mix when wet.

I bet his clutch master cylinder is leaking, nothing will grease up the clutch pedal like that. I've never had any problems with slick pedals when simply wet, even now in the dead of winter, but when my CMC started leaking it made the pedal extremely slippery sometimes, but it only happened when my shoe soles were already wet. And the cause of the problem wasn't obvious for quite awhile. The fact that it was the clutch pedal your foot slipped off of is a good indicator by itself.
