Well, find your idle air control valve, should be on the side of the throttle body someplace, carefully remove it and give it a good cleaning, they get full of junk over time.

Yes, I unplugged the old one..that stopped the revs...so now i finally replaced it ..pluggedthis new one in ..and rev city again...when I stomp on it a few times, it brings it down....what I don't get is ..iF the throttle is closed, but the idle control is full open,...what the heck is telling the motor to send all that fuel ...to make it rev like that??? TPS, air mass, or what??

I should mention that I not longer use the relays on my cooling fans ..I use a manual switch to cool the engine.

This is where a flasher and a tune would help ,try this

Start the engine , unplug the IACV , engine should dye , restart and set the idle screw to 750 then plug the IACV back in see if that helps , if no then I would look for a Vac leak
