I forgot to buy snows/wheels, and now...

There's 8" of snow in Seattle! FarF!
The Dunlop site for my tires states "NOT FOR USE IN NEAR FREEZING TEMPS OR ON SNOW OR ICE"

And busses SUCK, mostly, so I'm grounded for now. Sucks, cause I want to try this thing with snow tires, could be a HOOT!

Oh, well... 20/20 hindsight.

Lol I took my svt out today. I couldn't resist. The cheap 4 year old
Tires that my insurance had put on there 4 years ago held up ok. That and Tom's traction control kill made for some fun driving :)

Oh, dang!

I shovelled the side walk! DUMM!
Rain that freezes on contact makes for a really nice sheet of ice.
Should have left the snow... now, I need:

i drove on my old summers during one winter, never ever again, snow banks = expensive. The summers i use now are only good down to about 45 after that they are to hard and loose a good amount of traction until warmed up. Snow tires, Falken Eurowinters 205/50r17, are on their own set of EAPs. i have had good luck this year, not much snow to worry about plowing with the lip.

My SVT isn't going to see the snow. As soon as the salt hits the ground it will be a nice driveway decoration untill spring. I drive my cougar in the winter don't have money to put new rubbers on winter wheels so I will prob rock the summers the first snowfall and see how they do. The car is a tank though so I am hoping it can pull of some decent traction.

Dude, I'm in Olympia...I think we easily doubled that 8" - at least we did in my driveway. Two days of digging and I still had like 4 inches on the pavement. The Focus handled it like a dream, though. I love this thing in the snow.

I believe you, and would have enjoyed hooligan-ing like a rally car driver, but what tires are you running?

Snow tires on the SVTF are incredible. My first snows were Michelin (which were very nice; but not cheap). I currently have General's which are an absolute steal for the money and I think they are just as good as my prior Michelins.

I love passing slack-jawed yokels in their SUV's who are trying to get up a moderate incline. Beep, beep, coming through!

I'm in Northeast Ohio and I just love the first heavy snow fall of the season. I especially like jumping on the interstate to see what kind of fiasco is going on. Never fails who skidded off and got stuck in a ditch; SUV's and people with AWD. I just shake my head & giggle like a school girl.

All of the technology in the world is worthless if you have six year old all-season tires with 90,000 miles that are bald.....

My current set-up...
