Cool From Stock to Shock

So I got my car a little over a year ago 1/1/11 actually. It began with me as a 02' with 28k miles. It's been over a year and it's already got 48k and it's time for a over haul.

My list.. please pick and choose possibly rate by importance. I'm planing on doing it all at once.

Dominant ORP
Dominant Flex Pipe
FSWerks SCT Xcal3 w/tune
VF Drivers Mount
VF Passenger Mount
Serptine Belt Tensioner
Serptine Belt
Timing Belt Idler Pulley
Timing Belt Tensioner
Timing Belt
FSWerks Race Exhaust
FSWerks Plug Wires
OEM Ford Water Pump w/ gaskets
180* degree Thermostat (FL car)
Ford Racing SVT Factory Replacement Damper Kit
Windshield Wipers Front and Rear
New Yellow Fogs
New Front O2 Sensor

To date the car already is slightly lowered from the previous owner. Dampers are worn out (hence the thought at replacing them). It has a K&N PopCharger WAI & a rear ploy insert in the dogbone mount.

Please any advice as what to take away or add to my list or ever prioritize. Please don't say turbo kit. Thats something maybe down the road. This is my DD and I want to make it a little peppier.

I've also got to repair my IMRC. It's currently stuck open..

How much of a power and feeling increase do you think I'll gain?

Dont know if you want all poly mounts as a DD....

Call up Steve @ Toulsey and get some SVT cooper core spark plugs and gap them to between .055 and .060. You'll thank me later. These will compliment your plug wires nicely. He can also get you a deal on the SVT damper replacements (Id also get the strut bearings as well!) for ~$180 shipped to your door (damper kit alone)

When you do the timing belt, youll also need to cam bar and crank pin kit (available from cfm, fsw, or Steve).

With the tune, be sure to indicate to the tuner that you have a 180 degree tstat! Needs to be programed properly in the ECU.

I say if the water pump aint broke....dont fix it. Its not driven by the timing belt like a honda, its actually next to/behind the a/c compressor.

EDIT: If youre upgrading the tstat, you gotta pull the housing. Might as well get the upgraded unit from Steve that doesnt have the plug/oring that likes to weep on the factory svt housing.

Dunno. The only 'performance' part I really see there is exhaust; and being the SVT flows decent stock I doubt you'll see much gain, 5hp maybe. The tune is where you'll see the best gains and depending on who does the tune you could see a nice improvement in response, again not a whole lot in the way of more power. Just applying what you have better.

I've had multiple people in the Foci community tell me too. Plus it's original and 10yrs old.. probably smart idea.. opinion ofcourse.

The race exhaust is going to be LOUD with the orp. I would get the stealth.

Now I'm getting cold feet.. I mean I could get the steath.. but then again I've read doing the ORP and the Flex do alot to make it sound and it gives improved power.

I know the current stock exhaust is a very efficient flowing exhaust system already I may hold off on doing a bolt on system and save my 400 and just do the ORP and Flex..

Opinions?

I would do the off road pipe or if you cant I would do the high flow cat , drop in filter , larger TB and my tune LOL

Tuning from me you get FREE tune updates as you add more mods and in my opinion I have the best SVT tune out there

Dont know if you have road in a VF mount car but thay bring noise into the cab ???

I would also look around for other wires there are some that cost less but just as good if your on a budget

Tom
