YRFO reflash w/mods?

right now i don't have the YRFO reflash yet and am thinking about getting it done. with the mods that i have will that actually make use of the mods or will it not even know that they are there? I'm thinking that it will improve things like any other performance reflash but don't know buy how much though. Give me your comments please. laters!!

The only real performance addition with YFRO is opening the runners at 5K unstead of 6K. Whether or not you get any addition power out of the tune vs YFRO on a stock car... maybe, maybe not. It's within reason to say that airflow mods (TB, Intake, ORP) may benefit a little more. But I'd assume the gain would only be +1-2 HP, doubtful torque would increase very much.

Rych is correct. The best performance addition I have notice is indeed the intake runner's opening up at 5k. I also think it's possible and have wonder myself if additional gains are found with the added performance mods as listed above on a YRF0 reflash. I guess only a dyno could prove it for certain..

The reflash contrubutes more to driveability issues. i.e. Surging, rough idle, occasional stalling, etc. It should make everything smoother with your mods though. Not for certain if it would increase performance wise.

if i remember correctly, in FF magazine they had a dyno of before and after the reflash and you actually lose power every where except the 5000 range when the runners switch. A small price to pay for better drivability I think

I've never heard about this "Loss of Power" with the YRF0 Reflash. Exactly how much horsepower are you losing?

if you still have the last issue of FF magazine the article is in there but from what i read they don't say exactly but i'd say no more then .5-1.5hp at the most. don't quote me though read the article.

IS the article on the Spring 2004 Issue of Focus Fanatics Mag?

.5 to 1.5 hp is not too much but still I feel like I shouldn't give anything up when it comes to these driveability issues. Ford should really look into this more carefully.

Also someone mentioned something about "runners" opening at 5,000 RPM instead of 6,000 RPM, what exactly are these runners?
