crankshaft issues

i have a 2002 svt and have some problems. number 1's connecting rod journal on the crank is .7mm out of round. it seems like alot to me but im not sure of the specs. can it survive and run like this or should i have it fixed/replaced? number 2 cyl is also a little out of round. if i must fix/replace it what is the cheapest route? where could i find a new one? i already have a shop in mind that can fix it. any help is greatly appreciated

There is no published crank rod journal out of round spec but there certainly isn't .7mm worth of room between the top and bottom end of the spec.

almost a mil is a lot. I'd discard the crank. If you cut it, I'm not sure how difficult it will be to find oversized rod bearings for this motor

Aside from here or google I wouldn't know where to go. Call Tousley Ford in the Minneapolis area and ask for Steve in the Parts Department. A technician there named David Beale is also an SVT guru if Steve isn't available. There is a guy here south of the cities that scraps Foci for a living. His name is Al I think. Steve recommended me to him for various pieces parts...he may have a crank you can use.

I know you can get them somewhere. My SVT had a blower on it and bad crank walk. My buddy (original owner) put a new crank in it about a year ago so they are still available somewhere.

G/L!
