E brake !

I found out my brake cable is shot,so i bought a new one from ford,m mechanic told me it would be about a hour and a half job, does that sound right ??

That is book labor. It's how thay charge. Now will it at an hour and half that realy depends on your skill level. If you have never done anything like this it may take that long or longer.

when i did the ebrake cable on my SVT brake swap it took me about 45min.

you need to drop the exhaust and pull off the heat shield. (maybe you can do it without dropping the exhaust if you got some small hands)

if my exhaust was stock and rusted it will take a while just to cut the bolts off and get it loose.

so hour and a half sounds about right.

I just replaced mine, though it's a zx3 and the cables for the drums are different, the process is the same. Took me about an hour. Worst part is removing the heat shield and snaking the passenger cable around the fuel/brake lines. Other than that nothing's too difficult.

Depending on what your exhaust hangers look like you might be able to get away with just pulling the exhaust out of the hangers.
I managed to do mine W/O dropping any of the exhaust, but it was a squeeze and I don't have stock exhaust.
