I would stay with what the last owner was using. I have used GTX high milage in my old 5.0 stang, and I was happy with it. And it cost about the same as reg oil.

Coming from a professional lubbie, lol I would stick with it. High milage oil contains ester, an additive that over time swells gaskets to prevent leaking, along with other additives and antiwear agents

If your oil cap says something like 5w20 or 5w30 use what it says. The manual will also tell you what ford recommends. If all else fails 5w30 is still most used these days.
