Question Cold air Intakes/ early stage mods

Wut up guys, i just recently got an 03' SVTF and was wondering if you guys could give me some insight on your experiences with different brands of CAI's. I know they are all the same in a sense but i hear that some are putting out better numbers then others. Also, wut are ur guys experiences with Cat back exhausts...are they a big help on the SVT?

Slim

The only true CAI sold for the SVT is an AEM. Good gains, good sound, iffy filter placement, and higher prices are what you get vs. a short ram. I loved mine

For the most part, all catbacks are created equal when it comes to this car, so choose for sound over anything. Each will roughly give you the same gains (which isn't much)....maybe a couple hp.

I have the AEM CAI but you get the same gains with the Focus Central Short Ram and it has a safer filter placment. Being in NorCal I am switching to a short ram for the rainy season. For the catbacks I would reccomend the Borla it sounds wicked and looks awsome too.

Yup, as essveetee said. (i bought his intake). IT is great. You can really tell a difference. SOunds wonderful, but as he said it is a scary place for the filter. AEM all the way.

the SVT exhaust is pretty much tuned well, the only thing you will gain with an exhaust is maybe a couple of HP, and a better sound. If you're looking for HP on the exhaust, most people just get the ORP. Do a search on ORP and you'll find pleanty of information

Allright thx for the input guys, i know a guy who can get me a AEM CAI for under 200 so im gonna go for that....Another question: My SVTF came with that traction control system....i heard that pulling the fuse on it will help me off the line when i want to launch at high RPM's...is this true?

ya it is the button to turn it off "IF SO EQUIPT" only turns off the TC when you are going 20+ mph. The traction controll runs off the ABS Sensors. So if you turn the sensors off, you turn the TC off.

yeah just like jdm93hatch said, the switch for the traction control is the same switch for the ABS. So if you get the "traction control switch" when you use it, make sure you know that your ABS WILL NOT BE WORKING........
