Focus Fanatic Girlfriend looking for gift ideas!

For the many many years I have done nothing but listen to the avid Focus enthusiast I have no ideas as to what to purchase the man with the SVT. I know the limited quantity of the SVT and know how hard it is to find matching accessories for it but now I have hit a wall. Any helpful directions would be greatly appreciated guys!

Thanks again!

First Off ... MAJOR BROWNIE POINTS FOR BEING THE GIRLFRIEND AND THINKING OF BUYING HIM SOMETHING FOR HIS CAR!!!

Lucky man there.

Second, what are looking to spend. When it comes to cars the cost for most car parts are up in cost.

Do you know if he was wanting something like saying, it would be nice to have more pep in the car, or admiring other people's wheels, maybe he likes the deep throtty sound of an exhaust ... any small nikpits like, my shifter in my car feels funny.

Just somethings to help you decide on the best thing for your Boyfriend's SVT Focus needs.

And welcome to the FF crowd. Even if brief, nice to have ya.

Thanks! Well, I know he likes the growl of the focus already....but I dont want to buy him some shitty chrome exhaust without knowing exactly what he wants. I know he needs a new filter but he said it wouldnt make sense to buy it new. Anything really that would add any extra ponies will do. (horses are for men, ponies are for ladies) In addition, the jerkoff that owned it previously made some cigarette holes in one of the seats what are the chances to buy an svt seat? I know slim but just a thought.

good luck finding another SVT seat that isn't trashed, that would be a rare find. does he have an aftermarket air intake? thats something, maybe a suspension kit.
if all is lost, just get him a gift certificate to CFM.com

^^ There's a good idea. CFM.com (CLICK HERE TO GO TO THEIR WEBSITE)

That way your boyfriend can get on there and decide on what he would like. All great parts on their site.

The SVT Focus doesn't really have many parts to add a butt load more "Ponies", but the parts you do get for the SVT Focus is more for better drivability.

A part that does give you some extra ponies and torque would be a HFC (high-flow Cat) or ORP (Off-road pipe). For warning, you need to see if your state regulates removing the Cat for the ORP.

But those 2 would give some pretty good gains in the performance department of the car.

When looking to upgrade something on an otherwise stock(I'm assuming?) car, the first things I look at are(in no particular order)

Intake
Exhaust
Suspension
Wheels
Seating
Shifters
Tint

Also, considering Your situation, You could always have His seat reupholstered rather than trying to chase down a Unicorn like an unmolested SVT seat.

Again, this all depends on Your budget(if any). But from where I'm sitting, I would be looking at suspension goodies, as the Focus really responds to "turn fast" mods. Nothing wrong with "go fast" or "stop fast" bits, but the real joy comes from being able to hang turns at the same speed most people get nervous in straight lines over, lol.

You guys are awesome! Ok well for starters here are the specs on whats already there....hes only had it for about two years and hasnt done much.....

8.5 race wires, 1step iridium plugs, open air filter, borla exhaust with magnaflow resonator, and some poly bushings.....I know hes looking to supercharge/turbo eventually and a coil over suspension.....what all this means to me...well, not much! lol sorry fellas....so by budget standards Im looking to spend at most $300. Thank you so much for the information already provided. It means a lot to a clueless girl like myself. :)

OH! and for any of you that know about the SVT "birth certificate" sort of thing that gives you a run down of where it was made and what number it is. Im quite unaware how that works but I remember him mentioning this 2 years ago and it sounded kinda cool.

Never mind....found it!

short shifter...

thats my suggestion to you and a good nice shift knob.

to tell you what my wife usually does, she calls my favorite retailer...buys a nice fat gift certificate and then i sit down and order to my hearts delight, she sits with me and i explain what it is and what it does...helps her understand, helps me get parts.
