Couple of SVT problems! please helpp!

Alright guys couple questions... i have a weird problem where when i accelerate hard and it hits 6000 rpms... it just cuts down power and resets itself. I can shift it back into that gear and it will go again.. its weird. i dont know if its maybe a MAF or something. Also sometimes when i go to stop the car will stall and the battery light and oil light will pop on. it only does it randomly.. and it hasnt done it for a while. anyone have ANY thoughts on what this could be? I know the guy i bought the car from took out the box and put a K&N filter on it.. dont know if that matters.

thanks in advanced!

First off welcome
Could be the MAF but could be tune related

i've had the battery light problem when you pull up to a stop, if you go the idle and coast then brake way, the rpm's might just shoot down, battery light comes on, and maybe all the other lights if the car decides to actually turn itself off. i just changed my alternator and have pretty much been problem free. i've seen the battery light 3 times since changing the alternator. i did that 2 months ago.

If you have the stock air filter box I would put that back on w/a K&N drop in filter, it will probably run better.

what kind of intake do you have? stock, short ram, or cold air? your car shouldn't be affected by any of them

check the grounds around the engine bay! One on the rear pass engine hoist/hook. Another under the power steering res on the pass side strut tower/firewall area. Third on frame rail between the battery box/air box and the engine bay.

Disconnect battery, undo the screw holding it in and clean both areas of contact.

I was having a similar issue, someone on here mentioned it is a flaw in the factory tune. Get a tune and see if it still happens. I haven't tuned mine yet cause im saving for boost!

i hope to get a boost too one day. but it probably will be in a couple years at earliest. i have modded my engine out some to where my CEL light is on. it says i run to light and to rich at the same time. haha. i don't have a vacuum leak, i've checked, i used to have a PCV breather hose problem, got that fixed. my engine definitely needs a tune, i may be able to tune it next summer.
i've heard of this place nearby that does great tunes, i plan to check them out.
is a dyno tune just for checking HP and torque? or do they tune your car aswell?
