Emmisions important to you?

There has been alot of talk on this topic. Ecspecially on the decision to use an ORP on a daily driver. I have stayed out of these topics because I honestly do not care do be bashed by other members of this forum. I just want to see what the majority of SVT drivers think. Please do not use this to bash anyone or me. Your opinions are welcome but please leave it at that.

Honestly I do not care, alot of this has to do with what I do. I have raced motocross since age 6, I have 3 dirt bikes, 2 jet skis, 1 street bike, 1 lawn mower, 1 weed wacker, 1 chain saw, and many others. So unless I plan on stopping my racing of 16 years, my jetskiing of 3 years, my street bike riding of 1 year, and the lawn care I have been doing since who knows, I am going to continue to pollute, do we realy have a choice?

I really could care less about the environment, but I won't mess with anything that regulates the emissions. You should have another selection in your poll. One that says, "No they do not, but I won't add an ORP" (or something like it). I also think you should get rid of the "Emissions Laws, what are those?" selection because it's the same thing as saying no, but I know some smartasses will choose that because they think it's cooler.

Emissions don't really affect me much, not like in CA where everything needs to be CARB approved, but I will never consider an ORP simply because of the fines associated with removing the cat.

So to answer the poll (I didn't vote BTW) I'd have to say no, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna put an ORP on.

Anyways, I feel that polluting will happen forever. There are alternatives to burning fuel, like electricity, but those aren't as practical - I'd love to cut my yard (1 Acre with lots of trees/bushes) with an electric lawn mower, or see a lumberjack cut down trees with an electric chainsaw (there are hydraulic chainsaws, VERY cool)... there are reasons why electricity is better, but the disadvantages outweigh the advantages IMO.

Don't really care..emissions laws are bullshit, and half the so called contaminents havent even been proven to be harmful to the environment. Theres enough factories around here blowing nasty as smelling smoke into the air for me to really care less.

OMG I wish we had emissions here...It would take 95% of the Dodge and Chrysler Oil Burning autos off the road. Lately, I have seen a lot of cars burning oil and almost all of them have been dodges or chrslyers...I am not kidding. I mean some cars burn oil when they take off but these do it all the way down the road.

most of those cars would still pass inspection, its not about burning oil

I voted no. An emissions law would not prevent me from a mod that I wanted. There are other things that factor in guiding my choices, just not that. My first mod to my SVT was the ORP and I'm very happy with that. As I've posted earlier I do not run it daily. It will be used for track days, dyno's, and special events. I'm also in the market for a high flow cat, looks like R/T has one about ready and I'll go that route for daily driving. I take a hard look at mods and map out what direction I want to go with it and wouldn't allow a law that prohibits it stop that choice. I'm also prepared to face the music should that ever become a reality. I think that these topics are helpful because some people aren't aware of the laws or the trouble that a mod can get them in. Hopefully for the last time I can say that I do not welcome unsubstantiated claims of punishment do to modding. If that ORP cost you $8,000 then I expect to see your ticket scanned in along with that statement. I've still yet to hear of another person that has been pinched other than the one poster.

LastRites I'm sure you know my position on this. No need to repost in here.

I'd like to see that $8,000 fine on some paper too. Problem is that even if it posted that some of these guys are really good with photoshop and other programs of the like. We'll never know if it was true or not, we can only assume that it wasn't due to the lack of posts and evidence presented by this Phanton user.

I could really care less about the ORP being installed on someone's car, merely pointing out the legality issues.

I think this poll is uneccesary seeming how we've already got two extensively highjacked threads leading to the same issues.
