Dyno time

I see a lot of posts saying dyno this and dyno that. What does dyno time cost where you guys come from? It's not that cheap here. I think alot of this is just talking poop. They think getting on a dynomometer is like going to the automatic car wash. You just drive in sit for 3 minutes and drive out.

You usually can't get out for under $100 if they don't do anything to your car. So you're not going to run a dyno to see if a K&N made any difference.

Here in Albuquerque, the going rate is about $70 for 3 pulls. I went and got my car baselined, and I ve since put on the FS cool flo. I m not going to pay $70 for a $135 mod. I wouldnt have saved anything buying the part used.

I m not going to dyno again unless I do a major mod, like tuning or cams (if they ever come out for the SVT)

If you don't want to tune and just want to see a ballpark figure of what you gained on a mod, get the G-tech or G-timer. They will give you a pretty good figure of what you gained on a mod from what people who have them have posted. They cost around $125-200.

first off look at your local car clubs, and the svtoa chapter in your area. lots of times they well have dyno days. went to a few with the Cobra group here(before i owned the focus) and the rate for the group was $35 for 3pulls. call your local dyno area and get a bunch of friends together or a car group and work out a deal most will be more than happy to offer a deal for the publicity they get from you taking 20+ people to their performance shop
