Advantages of 3 door vs 5 door

Are there any performance advantages to one or the other? Is one car more comfortable in any way than the other?

The 5 door it is much easier to grab the seatbelt(shorter door). 4 doors better than 2 if you put ppl in the back. I have not noticed any performance differences. They are the same length and wheel base. BTW I have a ZX3 & 5

Historically two-door vehicles retained their value better. Of course I'm referring to classic cars and not a Ford/Honda thing. IMHO, the two-doors look better, look more "SERIOUS", less "station wagon", but are less practical. The two-doors aren't terribly long but they are bigger than the four-door, doors. It _can_ make getting out of the car more challenging in a tight parking space but most SVT owners wouldn't park there anyway; we LIKE the way our car looks and door-dings don't help.

Finally, the two extra doors add weight, (read SERIOUS), and mess up the lines (read PRETTY), but add some factor of safety to the rear-seated passengers (read practicality).

i had a zx3 and i have a zx5 now and i prefer the 5 door in every way.

also there is a performance difference as the 3 door is lighter but its a negligable difference. nothing you will notice in day to day driving.

IMO the 5 door looks more balenced. 5 door is safer. Obviously the 5 door is easier to get in and out of the back seat. The interior, seats, etc are the same.

The zx3 will be torsionally stiffer than the zx5. Couldn't give you values though...
