SVT cold air intake

I was looking at this on ebay...Does anybody have one? Is it any good? I just dont want to waste my money and have to spend even more to get some cheap power. Also, I was thinking about maybe getting a vortech later. Can I use this with it? I have never had a supercharger before and dont have a slightest clue so if this wont work with it please be gentle.

well the vortech comes with its own intake. ig u get a jrsc it likes more of a ram air setup than a cai. as far as the intake goes. a good rule of thumb to follwo on car parts is you ge what u pay for. if you plan on keepign your car for a long tiem spend the extra money on a aem cai . that cai on ebay might be okay but r u willign to risk it? bottom line if u r keepignt he car for a long tiem spend the extra cash ont he name brand well made part. i as well as many other peole can attest to how good the aem cai is

Well I figure for a mechanical part a name brand would be worth the extra money, even for the air filter itself. But for the metal tube is it worth having a name on the tube for twice the money? What it going to fail on a metal tube with a K&N filter attached to it?

CP Pro cai uses the same Mandrel Bend Aluminum Pipe as that on the AEM cai, in other word's, you will get the same performance from either one. I can tell you from experiance because I have had them both.

basically, all cold air intakes are the same. No matter where you get them from/who you get them from, they are gonna be a tube that runs to the bottom of your car and collects colder air..........the only thing that i would worry about from getting a "no name" brand is the fitment. My friend bought a EBAY CAI and it didn't fit.................

demand a dyno curve. The SVT group did a very good job with that intake, and most bolt ons won't benefit you. Demand an A to B torque curve so that you can really see what performance gains you are getting.

build quality means a lot too. i know with all the CAI for the normal zetec, the ebay ones build quality just dont hold up. you could look around for a used svtf cai. just clean the filter.
