Is this "tongue-in-cheek" or are you serious? Just checking before I say anything...

If you have a modified SVT, I would say it is worth it. But an SVT is essentially a Focus with most of the bolt-on upgrades already on teh car and some nice exterior/interior upgrades. Start talking about turbos and such and then you really have cause to look down on others.

I asked because a lot of "regular" Focus drivers are more than a little touchy about the idea that some SVT Focus owners think they have a MUCH greater car than a Focus. Sure, it's nicer, but I don't look down upon people who have a Focus and not an SVT Focus.

i used to own a kona edition zx3 and now that i traded up to an SVT, ive personally noticed that it is not just a focus with bolt ons, its a car greater than the sum of its parts.

yeah, you can put bolt ons on your car and go faster, i dont care. you still dont have an svt.

I like the fact that I go up to a month sometimes with out seeing another SVT Focus. Not to knock non SVT owners but it was SVT or no Focus for me, I just can't stand being like everyone else. I would have been real diffrent and got a Civic or Integra, you don't see many of those around (J/K), if I wanted to be a clone I would have got one of those two cars. Just to get this off my chest I like the SVT for the name sake and I am tired of seeing post after post of ricer wanna be's talking about how fast there 2.0 L ZX3 or ZX5 is and how they smoked this and that. They come with 130hp stock and unless you FI it you aren't going to beat much (I'll get flamed for that line). I'm not knocking all Focus's just the owners who want to rice them out and think they own the road. I realize I don't own the road and never said I did, hell I havn't really even had a real race after almost a year of owning mine. Some one seems to follow my posts and likes to reply that "I make all SVT owners look like retards/asses" (you know who you are). I would just like to point out to everyone that "comments or opinions expressed in this post are not those of all SVT owners" (like the info commercial thing). I mean exactly that, I speak for myself and for no one else. To make a long post short, be happy with what you have and improve on it but I am damn glad to be diffrent and own an SVT.

I was like sidney61199 when I bought my Focus, SVT (with HID's) or bust! Not only is it quicker, better handling, better looking, better seats, HID's, and have a 6-speed, but it also has a 3 year warranty on those "bolt ons" (as someone said), is a limited production vehicle, it has a VERY rare color for a Focus, and it has a better drivetrain warranty... I also get a free loaner for service work, something you'd be lucky to get owning a non-SVT product unless you know the owner real well.

Not saying a non-SVT isn't great, they aren't as common as other vehicles in this neck of the woods (I live in Chevy country and deal with those ignorant Chevy bastards all the time). Perhaps that's why I looked at F-150's 2 years ago - to be different. I will admit when I see a nice vehicle, but the Chevy guys won't. I saw a SWEET lifted F-350 on Wed - guessing it was 8" lift or so on 44's - very illegal in WI. The other guy with me said it was a piece of crap... yeah, like IFS is really good offroading much less with huge tires... not to mention GM trucks need insane amounts of lift to fit the same sized tires... yep ignorant. I could go on about why Ford trucks are better, but then I could give reasons why GM trucks are better.

I feel superior, but I won't say I've got the better vehicle out there... unless you own a Hyundai Tiburon V6 "Race Edition" (with full interior, racing seats, some extra gauges - including a gas mileage gauge, chip, intake, and Kumhos - cause man they just sound mean... say it with me Kumho). Supposedly that piece of Korean junk can go 170 and sticks to the road 10x's better than my SVT (though I think the guy thinks it's a regular Focus) *Rolls eyes*

This is where I stand on this too. The ZX3 has great modification potential but I would never buy one unless I had the extra money to drop into moding it right away. We paid more to get a limited run car, that IS exclusivity.
