Question Telescoping steering wheel?

I've been reading on some sites that say the SVT has a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. Is this really true? I would love a telescoping steering wheel...that little bugger is in Montana compared to where I sit! Any info would be appreciated.

Scott

I have no 03 SVT and it has a telescoping steering wheel. Flip the latch down and pull, yours should have it also.

Thumbs up

OMG the excitement builds...long legs, short arms, the wheel will be so close the airbag will push me into the trunk if it went off. Thanks for the info!

Hey. Careful who you're calling a little bugger.
I just happen to be in Montana....though I'm not so little anymore.

Hmmmm, Montana...according to maps.yahoo.com, you are 1700 miles from me.

http://maps.yahoo.com/dd_result?ed=x...MT&tcountry=us

If my steering wheel were that far away from me, 2 things would be true:

1) The wheel would appear to be a little bugger at that point.
2) I would have an awefully hard time reaching that little bugger to boot.

Smart a$$ that I'm not trying to be here, the point was that my steering wheel was so far away that I just couldn't reach it without having my seat straight up and carpel tunnel giving me heck about it. Not working on Montana bashing.

If anyone still can't find it the lever is underneath the column and partially hidden. Just like most european economy cars.

I have mine fully extended and I still wish it was closer. Does anyone else feel they can not achieve a comfortable driving position with the seat and wheel? If I adjust the seat to feel good with the pedals then the wheel is just to far away to steer from the top for long periods of time. If I adjust the seat to feel good with the wheel then the pedals are just to close. I usually adjust the seat for the pedals and steer from the bottom of the wheel most of the time.

After adjusting mine for the first time yesterday, I found what you said to be true this morning. I thought I could lean back my seat somewhat and get alittle more comfy in the seat. This only worked so far b/c the wheel only comes back so far. So while it did help, it looks like good posture will continue to be learned in this car.
