Theory on Svt

I know the subject is old. Surging, and the theory is heat range on the stock spark plugs, I have read a thread somwere the with better plugs the surging will be very reduced or non existent at the best case. Can somone tell me if this sounds good, got my build cert.

yeah, that would be interesting. I know denso says the regular zetec takes their ITV16 plugs and the SVT takes ITV24's, but I think ford used the same heat range plugs in both engines. someone get some new plugs and find out!

Ohhh Ohh I will be your guinie pig. I bought the Denso ITV16's and it worked. The only time it surges is right when I get done racing around that a bat out of h%^& but thats normal with any car. It stops after about 2 or 3 mins.

Also when i bought them they only had ITV16's so I might have to spend another $50 on plugs dangit!

Just a few days ago, DiLSVT came to the same conclusion. Clicky
Interesting theory. I think I'll wait till someone else spends the money though.

comporangesvt is the man or women. I really think that the motor craft plugs can't handle the svt engine heat. it sounds stupid, but the engine produces alot of freaking heat. the other plugs may be tested at the same heat range, but they handle it better.

SVT takes a colder plug than regular Zetec due to higher compression/higher octane.

svt medic you maybe right i just had a valve failure in my 04 and they dealer also said that 3 of the 4 plugs had the eletrodes missing or broke. I'm not sure as to what all went wrong its only got 3,011 on it. Also it having gotten may car back, a new motor is being put in. When this happened i was at about 5k in 3rd, the CEL came on, but wasn't alot of noise. It sounded like t wasn't running on all 4, which is kinda obvious. there was probaly something else that caused the problem it had.
