my VCT solenoid failed at about 2000 miles, it overadvanced the timing, but fortunately, it didn't cause any damage

I would get on that pronto and get myself a new motor. Its you that has to hear the ticking everyday and live with a less then perfect motor, not the Ford people. If your car isnt working the way you want it, then they should fix it until it does (I assume youre still under warranty).

I dont mean to sound like I'm lecturing you, sorry if it comes off that way. I just hate when dealerships drag their heels on things like this.

I hope to know more about what happened, when I go pick the car up I'll ask what broke exactly and see if they will show me the broken parts. They told me today the new crate motor was expected in tommrow but they weren't sure. Till then i'm rollin in a taurus ses.

For clarification, my last post was directed to Turbo_SVT420.
svt2004, I hope all goes well with your problems. Let us know what they say. Enjoy the taurus- they pack some heat I'm rollin in an '03 F-150 FX4 until I get my SVTF back- that thing is HUGE compared to the Focus. I can barely park it.

Ya ive been on it for awhile now. my cars been do 5 different dealerships, the most recent was the one i bought it from. just got it back, now i just have to listen and see if it still ticks! hopefully not this time... if so its either a new motor, or a lemon. ive been trying for a new motor for a couple of months, but they SVT techs simply said Ford would not let them change it yet. its been almost rebuilt now, besides internals. new head, intakemanifold,CPS,camshafts(both egt. and int.)Lifters, valvesprings, new exhaust, and been torn down 2 times and put back together. im not sure if thats everything thats been replaced, id have to get out my receipts to be 100% correct. maybe more, but no less then that.
