Unhappy pot holes

Last night I was driving in the rain, then all the sudden I hit this big pot hole in the road that I did not see. My car hit the hole very hard. This pot hole crusted my header, bent and broke my brand new orp (only had for 10 days) And broke the o2 senser. Total is $631.00 to replace those parts and the township said they are not at fought for the road. I was not even going over 30 mph. I was so mad. Watch those pot holes, our header are at risk. Has this happened to anybody else?
Andrew

I had bent one of my OE rims hitting a pothole, which led to my purchasing of aftermarket. How low do you have your car??

Yeah, I've heard the same basic story a few times before on here so at least you're not alone. It hasn't happened to me (yet ) but I know how soft the wheels are because I've curbed the car twice. Hell, even the original "clamp on" wheel weights that were on the car when I bought it put a bend in one of the wheels. So at least it sounds like your wheel(s) came out okay.

I would take pics of the damage and the pot hole. Then write a letter to your township. One of my friend got a flat from the pot hole and took pics of it. wrote the city a letter with receipt of new tire. and they sent him a check.

it's not your fault. it's the city's fault. they're supposed to fix them damn pot holes

For that kind of money I think you should pursue getting the town/city to pay for the damage a little harder.

The condition of NYC's roads destroyed my poor jocus a few months ago::

The NYC office of the comptroller got a very formal nastygram and my reimbursement is pending. They probably just made paper airplanes out of it though.

I think the dealer that fixed it may have missed something or did not put something back together correctly, because the other night, my engine nearly fell out of the car.
domino effect of broken engine mount

This was the first estimate. They also replaced the oil pan, condenser and more.

My car is stock ride hight, and it it were the dug the road out to put a new pipe in. It was over 3'' deep, 3 foot wide and all the way across the road. It was a dark rain covered road , I had my four light on and my main head light are hid, it was just one of those night were it seemed like your light were not on. The township said they have not resonsablity for the road.

I hit a pot hole in my car one pretty hard. Luckily I did not have the damage you did. My stereo however (which is still stock) got all jammed up. Two CD's ended up getting jammed and I coulden't play anything. not even the radio. When I took it in to have it fixed I didn't let them know about the pot hole and so they fixed it under warranty. Good luck with the reimbursment.
