Question Really How Much Quicker?

After all the bolt ons how much quicker are our cars going? ORP,UDP,CAI,STS, and throttle bodies? I know that our cars are rated at 0-60 in 7.3ish but after all the add ons what difference do all these make? Should I just wait for a turbo that does'nt cost $5,000 or do these affordable add ons really make a noticable difference? What are your 0-60 times after these toys are added?

If you max out all of the bolt ons, I have seen estimates of around 190 - 195hp ... don't know how that will translate to street performance but I would suspect about a half a second off the 0-60 number ...

Friend of mine dynoed with orp, borla, cai, cam gear tuned, tb, msd coil pack, wires, And maxed out at 168hp and 145trq. Dont expect to be anywhere near close to 195 with all the bolt ons. Now, with cams and other tuning you may get closes, but 200hp n/a will be a very uncomfortable ride if you care about "road manners". The cams arent even out yet as far as I know as SCT and Focussport are still working on the tuning. So look to have max 170hp and 145 trq, maybe a tune will bring that up slightly, but not a whole lot. If you plan on going f/i dont screw around with bolt ons...I have spent over 25K on mods, and 5K of that is crap that I have taken off and should have never bought in the first place, because all I should have done was waited for the build/s/c. Now, something like an exahaust is a great idea. The orp, sts shifter, borla, a drop in filter, and all the motor mounts are a must imo. Other than that, get those things, sit back and save money for f/i set up.

Go buy yourself some beefer engine components (con rods, piston heads, etc) and go F/I. A good turbo kit should get you close to RS territory. The suspension won't be as nice as an RS, but I don't know if anything will be quite like that car.

JRSCSVT.... $25k on mods????!?!?!? I wish I had that kind of money to spend on my car.

Well, thats including all the boltons I had at one time and then either sold or chunked them.
8K On build (inludes nitrous, meth/water, and complete build and tune by Tom)
2.8K On JRSC
1K on Quaife
350 on Fidanza flywheel
450 for Spec Stage 3 with lightweight option
2K on tire changes (finally found the Goodyear F1 GSDs and wont get any other type!)
600 on drag radials with rims
500 on custom suspension (KW shocks/struts with FC coil overs and custom made springs used set up by friend for about 6K miles set up cost him about 1K)
150 on progress springs before custom suspension
Stero stuff was 4K, but I guess that doesnt count...
All the bolt ons....orp, borla, cam gear, both cai and short ram, yada yada yada who freaking knows, this is depressing me and my credit card...lol...you get the picture

Hey greggmeister: I came to the conclusion a while ago that an SVT is NOT a drgster to pull hole shots with, if THAT'S what you're looking for. If you want that then a turbo or s/c will help you immensely! These guys are right in what they're sharing with you. If you've got a few grand to drop on a turbo, then do it. I'd mirror what JRSCSVT says. Get the orp, cai, sts and see if that stimulates you enough to drop the big dime on more power. We have the same car. I don't street race all the morons that want to race (always a mutipainted fartcan civic with an ironing board on his trunk)but they NEVER want to canyon race through the twisties...which is why I got mine. 1/4 mile races are fun, but you're not gonna be turning 12-13 second times without major investmest in $ and time. Also...do you have the know-how to keep it in perfect running order? More power=more stress=more problems=more $ etc..etc. More fun for sure..but for me..give me the corners, Nothing like decreasing radii at the limit..feel the G's(GEEEZZZ) Good luck in your quest!

these cars are perfect for people who want to fly on the curves, and have a little punch when the throttle is stabbed, but they are no 1/4 mile car w/o major $$$. in a few years, i wanna take my car and solo II in SCCA (once im old enough) and im sure itll shine. but hell maybe by then i can get an new style cobra and race that beast, power and handling in one package for under $40k. but one step at a time.

HEY THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT. I MIGHT JUST WAIT FOR MY WARRANTY TO RUN OUT BEFORE I START ADDING THINGS ON SO I STILL HAVE A COUPLE OF YEARS. MAYBE BY THEN SUPERCHARGERS OR TURBOS WILL COME DOWN IN PRICE FOR OUR CARS. IN A COUPLE OF YEARS OUR SVT'S WILL BE ONE OF THE SLOWEST CARS ON THE ROAD IF THEY KEEP THROWING TURBOS AND SUPERCHARGERS ON NEONS SATURNS COBALTS AND JETTAS. BT THEN I WILL NEED SOMETHING IF I WISH TO KEEP UP.
