K&N AirCharger Reviews needed

Ok, sorry to bring up the intake sub again, but I need to know very soon if any svt owners have a K&N AirCharger. If so please tell me what you think of it. I have a 04 svt focus and am looking to upgrade my intake. I have looked at a lot of different ones but, I am sort of undecided. I have a friend with an 03 svt with a typhoon and he is farely happy with the results. I called K&N and they don't offer a typhoon for 04 yet, and said that the aircharger is the only intake they offer. It is a lot more expensive than a typhoon, not legal in all states due to emissions control, and is stated to be for race and off-road use. All of this leads me to believe that it must get more gains than a typhoon. Please write back soon so that I will know what the deal is. Thank you

That's a bit ODD.
There's really no difference between those 2 years, let alone all 3 years of production.
At least, not intake wise.
Hmmmm.

K&N is really bad about updating their computer for parts that will work with next year of production, ANY 03 SVT part will work on an 04

yeah, i mean i could understand if it was an '05, since they haven't come out with much for the brand new focuses, and yeah there isn't really much of a difference. shouldn't be a problem putting it in, i'd say the only differences in the '03 and '04's would be exterior looks, minor probably, and maybe a few on the inside, but the engine probably maintained what it was from the previous year.

I am not really worried about the typhoon though. I would like to know about the K&N AirCharger racing and off-road intake system. I am the kind of person who wants to make sure that I am doing stuff right. Inturn, I am going to trust K&N and go with the Aircharger that is made for my car. Just wondering what ya'll thought bout it. I have looked all over the internet to try and find some feedback, but found none. Preciate the replies ya'w, e-mail back soon.

Whats the difference between the typhoon and the aircharger that makes one better than the other? Also what makes on racing/offroad and the other not? Can anyone answer that?

They must be kind of rare being no one has one. They are probibly too expensive for any normal person that has any sense. I must just be retarded for paying that much for a short ram, but o well. I hope I can get 20hp, that would be sweet.

An Aircharger isn't going to throw down 20 HP on this engine. If I had to take a swag at it I'd go with 11 to the block and maybe 7 to the wheels. The difference between the Aircharger and the Typhoon is the tube material. Aircharger is made out of plastic or silicon where the Typhoon is alumuminum. Also Airchargers are not CARB approved and are not emissions legal however they will pass a Colorado smog test.
