I don't know what it is so I'll try to describe it. If you look down where the elbow meets the air box on the back of the tranny there's is 2 linkage arms. The inner has a plastic race or bushing of some sort that the outer linkage slides up and down in. Well this is cracked severley enough that the race is distorted causing the outer linkage not to be aligned & perfectly vertical.
Also to the left is a cable with a bright orange connector with a visible spring in the middle. Any idea what that is?

Not sure what you're describing there. How's about a pic??

That's the DSI (Dual Stage Intake) switch.
Later models (like shown in pic below) are metal. Your's sounds like the earlier plastic one.
You're talking about the one denoted by the red arrow, right?

I think the first part you are talking about the shift linkage.

I would have to say so. I had to get one of the cable replaced becuase it would pop out of the mount by the tranny and I would lose 5th and 6th gear. Pain in the ass.

I can't get a pic due to it's location. I think it's the linkage as well. Look at it. There are 2 parts. The arm closest to the firewall has a round peg thingy at the top. This slides up and down in the elongated hole of the linkage arm closest to the bumper. In that hole is either a plastic race or a guide of some sort.
